Hey, I'm a Winner!!!!!!!!!

I won, I won, I won! Oh, I am so excited. Just found out from NanaConnie that I won one of the top three spots for the Tuesday Throwdown #136. My first time entering this challenge and I can thank NanaConnie for that. She saw my card on the Outlawz Challenge and suggested I enter it into the Tuesday Throwdown.

Wow, am I pumped!! The theme was "Monochromatic" which means one color family.

My card is below. I used an image from Gina K Designs........the hibiscus, state flower of Hawaii. Illustrator is Melanie Muenchinger and I do love the hibiscus! This is one of the stamps from Stately Flowers 4 by Melanie.

Being a Top 3 winner lets me have a Tuesday Throwdown Top 3 Badge which you can see to the top right of my page.  Wow, I am so thrilled!!!

Another Mermaid Story?

Well, here it is Monday again. Weekends just go too fast, don't they?

The card I am featuring today is a mermaid from Sherri Baldy Stamps. She is a digi image and was really fun to color with my copic markers.  I'm entering this card into the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge.
We were given three colors to feature:  Pastorale Jade, Rosy Outlook, and Pennywise. (don't you love the names of colors...so imaginative!)  We were also given a "twist". The "twist" is to use a metal accent. I chose some copper colored paperclips that were sitting in my embellishment drawer just screaming to be used. So here we are!

Have a great week!!!

Pop the bubbly!........or bubbles!

I love all of Sherri Baldy's digi stamps.  They are so adorable and so much fun to color in.

I made a card for the Besties Challenge #6 using Two Shades of Blue.  My card features Belinda Bubbles, a digi by Sherri and it is soooooooooooo cute! For my two shades of blue, I used a bahama blue and a medium vivid blue. I don't know if you can see, but I have added little pearls to some of the bubbles.  I think this would make a nice card for one of my friends.  Here's my card! Thanks, Sherri!!

I'm also entering this card into the Color Me Creative Copic Challenge. The theme is Girly/Feminine and this definitely fits the bill!!

Be mine................

Aww......just when I thought I wouldn't make another Valentine's Card, I just couldn't resist this cute image by Sandi Huggett. I love dogs and I love valentines so I found this digi image irresistable and it was also free from Sandi Huggett for participating in the Creative Freebie Challenge at Outlawz. The challenge ends tomorrow and I can't wait for the new images from Anne and Sandi. Here's my card.
Hoping your weekend is grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can Spring be far away?

Taking a "snow day" today although the amount of snow we got accompanied with the wind wasn't near as bad as predicted. But..................it is Friday and I had decided yesterday that today would be my snow day. So here I am thinking about spring and my card I made this morning shows a lovely watering can by Anne Fenton.  I used some angles to make it look a little unpredictable. I am entering this card into the Creative Freebie Challenge over at the Outlawz.

Have a great day!!!

Hula Girl Hula Halina

The challenge this week for the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge is to make a card with Movement. I chose to make a card using a digi image called Hula Halina from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I colored her with copic markers. I used the copics to create a look of sand under her sandals.  The blooming tree above her is from GinaK Designs.

Have a great day and if you are in the path of the big storm coming, be safe!!

A Daisy Patch for you.......

I love coloring flowers and this image is a great one from Heartfelt Creations' Daisy Patch collection. I used copic markers to do my coloring.  It is a rather large rubber stamp image and needs to be on a 5 x 7 inch card.

I am entering this card into the Through the Craft Room Door Challenge and the Outlawz Friday Copic/Promarker Challenge.

Thinking of you...........

I am excited to enter my very first Alicia's Challenge #3.  Here is my card using Alicia Alva's image called Thinking of You. We were to use decorated paper. I don't have much dp on the card but there is some pretty paper used for the curtains. I used copic markers to color the lovely lady.

I am also entering this card into the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge with a Window.

Sincere thanks

Today, I have a card I am entering into the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  My image is from Stately Flowers 4 by Melanie Muenchinger for GinaK Designs. The hibiscus is the state flower for Hawaii. I'm really happy that we can grow it here, too, even if it is just for the summer months.

I'm also entering this card into the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.   Have a great day!

It's been a few days since I posted a handmade card.  Had a busy weekend and didn't get to my stamping room at all.  This card is one I made for the Color Challenge at the Outlawz. Our colors this week are Cloudless Blue, Heartthrob Red, and Java Brown.  The "Twist" was to add a Heart.  Here is my card:

I used Spellbinders Dies and the flowers are by Flora Doodle.

Gift Basket/May Basket

This week, over on the Outlawz Paper ala Mode Challenge, we are to make something "other than a card."

I made a cute little gift basket for the challenge. It could also be used for a May basket, too.  I can picture it with pretty flowers on it.  The stamps are from Gina K Designs and I learned to do this project from a Gina K video over on StampTV.com.  It is listed under Flower Gift Basket Part 1 under the March Preview heading.
I made my gift basket to hold a gift card for a wedding that I am going to. I used the couple's wedding colors for my basket.

Another kitty card

I seem to really like doing kitty cards. I've done a lot of them lately. This one is for the Outlawz Copic and Pro Marker Friday Challenge.  The theme this week is Valentines.

My card features a little kitty from Gina K Designs. The dies are Spellbinders. I used copics to color my image.

Friends

Happy Monday!! I am entering the card below into the Wednesday Sketch Challenge for the Outlawz.  I chose to color in an image by Melanie Muenchinger (Stately Flowers 3) for Gina K Designs. It is the wild native Forget-Me-Not, state flower of Alaska.

I added the little bluejay sticker because there was an empty area that needed filled in. I love going to my sticker drawer and looking for the right thing to add! So much fun!

Have a great week!

Big Eyes

I absolutely love this owl stamp by Hero Arts called Big Eyes that I used for the card below that I entered into the Outlawz Color Challenge for Tuesday. Our color theme is Impatient Pink, Dapper Tan, and Cloud White and our Fabulous February Twist was to use real or fake stitching.

I stamped my little owl in Memento Toffee Crunch and layered on some cardstock that was beigey with some speckling throughout. For the pink, I layered it all on top of pink and white paper. I finished it off with some pink ribbon and a pink flower with a sparkly embellishment in its center.

Oh, and for the stitching I used white embroidery floss with a darning needle in pre-pierced holes around my card using Gina K Designs piercing template. I used my piercing tool to poke the holes so I wouldn't bend my card while "sewing". Worked pretty neat! The cardstock is of a heavier weight so it was easy to hang onto as I was stitching.

Here is a close-up of the center of the flower. It all came in one piece and was in a previous Cardmaker Kit of the Month package.

Love is the thread that binds

This week the cards for the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge needed to have 'stitching'. It could be real or faux. My stitching is actually some threads that I bought pre-glued so all I had to do was unwind them from the card that they came on and lay in place. The big heart image is from D.O.T. S., now Close to My Heart. The greeting "Love is the thread that binds us together" is from Unity Stamps. I found a big purple button in my button box and glued it on the heart.  Here is my card:

Enjoy your weekend!!

Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge

Well, I've been trying to get on the internet all day to upload this card for the Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge.  Tried many things and then finally turned phone off for 10 minutes and by golly it worked.  (I use my phone for wifi). Go figure!
Anyway my card is below. The challenge was to make a card 4 1/4 inches square. I colored in an image that is in a set by Penny Black called Mimi in Paris. The sentiment "For You" is from the same set. Added the little bit of bling (cuz I like bling) to dress it up a little. Very simple card to make.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay warm, especially those affected by the Nemo Winter Storm.

How does your garden grow?

This card is for Friday's Outlawz Friday Copic/promarker Challenge. The theme is "Birthstone". My birthstone for May is the emerald so I used emerald green with my copic markers to color in. I layered my image onto some pretty green papers.

My image is from Azadi Earles Stamps and the sentiment is from Happy Stamper. Makes you want spring to hurry up and get here!

A little squirrelly.......

I have always enjoyed having squirrels around. They are very entertaining and mischievous. The one I colored in the card below is for theColor Me Creative Copic Challenge that is going on right now.
The theme is "Texture". I colored the image from Love You to Bits Stamps with copic markers and mounted on some pretty paper. I tried to show his furry coarseness. The card is below.

Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge Card 2

I have another card that I made for the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge. It features the cutest little frog I have ever seen and was designed by Sandi Huggett.    http://sandisamples.blogspot.com      Who doesn't like frogs? My grandkids especially love 'em!! In fact, this card was made for my grandson who is 2 and a half years old. I'm just sure he will love it.

I colored this cute little digi from Sandi with copic markers and I added little flowers from the Stampin Up set called Reason to Smile.  The Be Mine sentiment is from Stampendous Fun Stamps.
Thanks Sandi for the cutest frog you will ever find!

Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge

I loved coloring this cute little girl by Anne Fenton for the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge. She is a cute little digi stamp that I colored in with copic markers. I just want to smile when I look at her.

Thanks, Anne, for giving us such a cute little image to play with.  http://annescards4u.blogspot.com

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday.  Doesn't mean that much to me except I enjoy a good halftime show.  The commercials usually make it worth tuning into also!!
My project for the Outlawz Monday Greeting Challenge this week was to make a card using a heart(s) and the color red.

The stamps I used are Calvin Cat from Dewy, Inkum, & Howe, Be My Valentine from Rubber Stampede, and the Heart in a Heart is from Hero Arts.  I colored the kitty with copic markers and used Love Letter Memento Ink for the stamped sentiment and heart.
