Welcome to Challenge #35. This week our theme is Steampunk.

Through The Purple Haze Challenges
http://throughthepurplehazechallenges.blogspot.com/

Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis.

The prize is 3 digis for the winner!!

The image I got to play with is "Bewitching" by Rick St. Dennis.

I colored this wonderful image with my copic markers in sepia tones with E41, E42, E43, E44 and for the skin I used E000 and E01.

The paper is from my stash as was the embellishments (Jolee's).

I used copper foil adhesive backed tape for some contrast and the Spellbinders Die Set called Sprightly Sprockets and Reverse Wonky Rectangles for my die cuts.

It's only the second Steampunk card I've ever made and I look forward to improving on my steampunk technique for the next time.

Hope you will go visit the Through the Purple Haze Challenges blog and see what other steampunk projects you will find there!

I'm entering my card into:

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil!

One of my favorite new digi companies is Aurora Wings! I love the images-----I simply can't describe how lovely they are! You need to go there and just check it out. I bought a few images including We Are No Evil! Three owls in their interpretation of the old proverbial phrase, "See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil." Just the cutest image and I have made a card for the Aurora Wings monthly challenge that has an Anything Goes theme!

Here's my card! The paper and ribbon are from my stash.

I colored with my copic markers.  Owls: E40, YG91, BG90

                                                    Leaves: YG01, YG25
                                                    Tree: N0, N3, N5

Un-egg-spected!

Hi there! Today I'm showing a card I made for Deedees Challenge.  Deedee has a monthly challenge and if you played last month, you automatically get the new set of digis FREE for the next monthly challenge. Or, you can buy the set at her STORE for $1.25. Either way, it is quite a good deal. You get a lot for your $1.25.

My card below features one of the digis in the set, the kitty coming out of the egg and the sentiment is also included. See? I told you it was a good deal.

I used patterned paper from my stash and used Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval nestabilities to cut out my image and sentiment. I colored the image with my copics and to make the background a little more interesting, I used a swirl stencil around my kitty, although you could easily draw these swirls freehand. I tinted some of my white paper flowers and put a pink brad in the center of each flower and using Glue Dots, layered the flowers on to the card.
I finished off with four pink gems. I actually hadn't planned on using any gems, but I had a small "boo-boo" and had to cover it up. And I like how they added a little something. So, sometimes, "boo-boos" can be a very good thing.

Have a great day!

Outlawz Sketch Challenge March 26- April 1st

Another new sketch over at the Outlawz!!! Hope you will go take a look---here's the link!

The sketch this week was a really fun one. So many things you can do with it. This is the last Wednesday in March so it's also the last week that we are sponsored by Anne's Digital Art. She has been our wonderful sponsor all month!

https://www.etsy.com/shop/AnnesDigitalArt?ref=seller_info

Here's my card!

To start with, I used this bright and cheery floral background paper and used matching cardstock in hot pink and aqua to bring out the colors. The pink layer is glittered by using a Top Boss embossing pad around the edges and sprinkling Stardust embossing powder on and then heat setting from the bottom so the sparkles don't fly away.

My image is Get Well from Anne's Digital Art and I used my copic markers to color it in.

YG25, YG41, YG61, B000, BG53, YR04, RV55, RV02. I added Diamond Stickles to the E and the L which was colored with YR04.

All of the die cuts are Spellbinders cut on my Cuttlebug! I added some turquoise colored gems to the corners of my focal image layer and ended up with a very quick card. Hope that it is cheerful enough to wish someone well!!!
I'm entering my card into these challenges
Sentimental Sunday - Flowery Springtime
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Fan-tastic Tuesday - Anything Goes, Must be Square

Enjoy your day!!

And here is my card using Hugzz Bear Balloons from Anne's Digital Art. I made my card with a child in mind and used the primary colors for a bright and cheery card.

I used papers from my stash. I believe these are from Gina K Designs as is the Happy Birthday sentiment. The two die cuts in each bottom corner are from my stash. I used Spellbinders for my tag die cut. The pennant is a clear stamp set Party Pennants from Close to my Heart which I stamped with blue pigment ink and heat embossed with a blue metallic embossing powder.

Through the Purple Haze Challenges #32 March 10

Hi everyone!!

We have a new challenge here at Through the Purple Haze Challenges!!

The theme is Digital Elements and both Design Teams A and B are participating this week.

We have two wonderful sponsors this week, Craftsuprint and Milk Coffee Stamps.

First, I'll talk about Craftsuprint. When you visit the website, if you look towards the bottom of the home page, you will see a link to 4 Free Downloads under Site Navigation. Click HERE to get your four free downloads. Just type in your email address where it is asked for and you will be sent by email your four free downloads.

I chose to use the Merry Christmas freebie sheet because I thought those owls were sooooooo adorable!!  I used my HP Laserjet to print my sheet, but I believe any printer will work. And then I just started cutting the images out and layering onto cardstock. But you could also use the big image as a card topper and Voila!!! not much work involved at all.  The designer for this particular freebie sheet is Carol Clarke.  Craftsuprint will award one of the Design Team members a prize!

Here is my card!!

I used a Vivid Sky Blue ink pad to do a little sponging in the background to make some sky and I dabbed on Diamond Stickles on the mail box for a glittery snow effect and for some dimension, I added Aleene's Glitter Snow randomly around the page with a cotton swab. The stickers are leftovers from a Kit of the Month Club from a few years back.
Here's a closeup look at some of the details.

As I mentioned earlier, we have dual sponsors this week, so now I'll switch over to our other wonderful sponsor, Milk Coffee Stamps.  This company will generously give 5 digi stamps to the winner of the challenge! That is very generous!

For my card using Milk Coffee images, I chose Fairy Princess as my image. I used Copic markers to color in the image, did a little bit of layering and added a ribbon to the bottom.

Now for the Milk Coffee Stamps card

So I hope you will visit the Through the Purple Haze Challenges blog and see all the hard work the Design teams have put into this week's challenge!!! You won't be disappointed!!

I plan to enter my cards in the following challenges!
Make it Monday - comments
Crafty Girls Challenge - Anything Goes
Words 2 Scrap By - Movie themes (I picked Stuff that Dreams are Made of)
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything Goes

Have a good week, everyone!!!

New Sketch at the Outlawz

We have a new sketch challenge over at the Outlawz.  Here is the link if you would like to check it out!

All month long, we are being sponsored by Anne's Digital Art.

Here is our sketch!

Here is my card using Anne's digital image Tiger Lily! I flipped it around a full turn so I'd have a spot for my sentiment (Gina K Designs).

I colored the lily with copic markers and had fun using patterned papers from my ever-growing stash of paper!! Circles and scalloped circles are from Spellbinders Classic Circles and Classic Scalloped Circles.

Hope you will stop over at the Sketch Challenge and check out the other Design Team cards for inspiration and who knows? Maybe you will feel inspired to join in the fun!!

Hope you are enjoying the week and staying safe and warm!!

Flowers at JIC

The theme this week is Flowers at Just Inspirational Challenges. Gotta say I love flowers so I love that theme! A real favorite of mine!

Here is a pocket card I made. I had to draw a pocket so my insert would fit into it. The image is Cat in Flowers and you can buy it at the Aurora Wings store. I just love that image.  I stamped my sentiments with Gina K Designs sentiments. My flowers are colored with copic markers in various shades from the V (Violet) family. My white kitty is outlined with RV0000. Hope you like my card!

Challenges I'm entering:
Make It Monday - commenting
Show it Off Sunday - Anything Goes

I also put my card over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge - Pocket Card just for fun!!

Have a crafty day!
