Flower Power

This card was done for the Outlaws Sketch Challenge. I decided to go with a basically pink theme. My flower is by Designed 2 Delight stamp company and is a digi. I colored it with copic markers and used 'girly' paper to complete the card.

This is probably my last post for today, so Happy Easter!

Have a berry good day!

This berry sweet card is for the Outlawz Color Challenge in which we are using Commodore Blue, Lime Green, and Crescent Moon for our color scheme. The 'twist' is to make it "fruity"!

My image is a House Mouse design and I colored it with copic markers. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs.

A blast from the past....

Anyone remember the blow-pens from years ago? Maybe you can still buy them, not really sure, but they were a lot of fun and I got mine out to make a card for the Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge. The theme was "Cleaning Out" which means making projects with items you have stashed and probably forgotten about.

I brought out three things: 1) the blow-pens. Mine are about 15 years old and still had ink in them, however.............the ink came out in blobs instead of a fine spray, so I may toss them although they are fine to write with, so I guess I won't toss them after all. It took me a little while to figure out how to put the pens together to use. The older I get, the more complicated things become. Funny how that is!!

Item 2) Mulberry paper. Years ago I went crazy over this stuff and bought it in several different colors. Some people may think of it as rice paper but I think rice paper is a little thinner. Mulberry paper is fun to work with. First, you wet the edges. I use an old toothbrush because it gets the paper wet from both sides. I just discovered this as I usually would use a paintbrush, but just as I was going to pick up the brush, I caught sight of the toothbrush. It worked perfectly. When the paper edges are wet, you just gently pull apart with your fingers to expose a raggedy edge.

And 3) my focal image....... I love taking pictures of my flowers that I grow outside. This Siberian iris is from a few years back. I actually had it enlarged and framed because I looooooooooove purple!

The mulberry paper is mounted on white cardstock.

Here's my card!

Happy Easter from the Easter Bunny!

The Easter Bunny says......"Happy Easter"!  Haha........... Well, I made another Easter card just when I thought I was done.  This one is for the Outlawz Copic/Promarker Challenge that ends Friday! My bunny and saying is from D.O.T.S. (Close to My Heart Stamp Company). One of my first stamps when I started  stamping over 20 years ago. Back then, all the stamps were mounted on wood and made of rubber! My, how times have changed. One thing that doesn't change.....folks still want to wish each other a Happy Easter!
I colored my bunny with copic markers and added some white flower-soft to his fur because my black ink smeared a little when I colored him in, so I had a couple of boo-boos to cover up. The grass was cut with fringe scissors (don't know if you can see it). Looks nice in person!

Easter Blessings!

This Sunday is Easter! I made a card using a rubber stamp by SonLight Impressions. The message is also from SonLight Impressions. I am going to enter it in the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge.

Happy Easter!

Mushrooms and Fairies

This cute little fairy sitting atop a mushroom and being watched by a snail is a digi image from Hambo Stamps. The sentiment is included with the digi and the floral border above the fairy is from D2D digital stamp company. I colored with copic markers and added a pearl flourish. This card is entered into the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge where we are to make a card using "signs of spring."

Well, here in Iowa, a sure sign of spring is the mushrooms peeking out. We need some rain and a hot, humid day and there they will be. (although I'm sure we won't be spotting too many fairies....they hide pretty good, you know!)

It's not easy being green!

It's not easy being green! Especially if you are a green cat! Hiding out in a green purse! My image is a digi from Pink Cat Studio! I made the purse shiny by using Judikins Diamond Glaze on it. Unfortunately, it doesn't really show up that way! The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.

I wish you could see the shini-ness of the handbag!

The verse speaks for itself though!

Have a great day!!

Fairy wishes.....

This card is for the Outlawz Sketch Challenge. The colored in image is a digi by Pink Cat Studio called Lily Sunshine Fairy. I colored her with copic markers and the sentiment is from Gina K Designs. I used a stardust Glaze pen by Sakura to make her wings, crown, and wand sparkle but it doesn't really show up in the picture.

Whooooooooooooooo are you?

I've been wanting to use these cute little owls on a rubber stamp by Southpaw Productions, a local rubber stamp designer/manufacturer and always sets up her display of rubber stamps at the Iowa State Fairgrounds a couple of times a year. I have purchased several of her stamps and am so excited to use her owls on my card for the Outlawz Color Challenge.

Our color assignment was Regale Blue, Extra White, and Chelsea Gray. The additional twist was to use dry embossing which I did with the Chelsea Gray using a Cuttlebug folder.

Enjoy your week!

Honey.................

Well, if it's Iowa and it's the weekend, well, you gotta have snow!  Thankfully, it won't be sticking around long. I think Mother Nature didn't realize that the calendar says it is "Spring"!

This card I made last night definitely looks like spring! It's got a butterfly and a dragonfly and the cutest little digi by Alicia Alva that is called Honey! I colored her with copic markers and used some Spellbinders Dies for the layers. Also my first time using Washi tape. It is a sticky tape that is in an aqua hounds tooth pattern. It is easy to tear off the size you want and when you put it on the piece of paper, it blends in perfectly!

I'm entering this card into two Challenges:

Have a great Sunday!

Where's my prince........??

This digi image is called Morning Betty from the Simply Betty Stamps collection. I colored her with copic markers and the sentiment "Where's my prince" is also a digi from the Betty Boo collection, also from Simply Betty Stamps.  I am entering this card in the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge that runs until Saturday.

Have a good day!

Tanya and Kitty

The current challenge at the Simply Challenged Challenge is to use a Simply Betty Stamps image and then frame it. For my image, I used TanyaKitty. I colored it in with copic markers. I sponged some Tim Holtz Distress Inks on my frame which is actually a mat that comes with a 5 by 7 frame. Then I decorated the top corner of the frame with a piece of ribbon and added a paper flower. I added more bling around Tanya's waistband to make it look like she was wearing a fancy belt. You can't see it in the photo, but at the top, there is a loop for hanging made from a scrap piece of colored twine.

Have a fun day!

The Hummingbirds will be arriving soon!

In the summer, my back yard is full of hummingbirds! And they are always fighting for the same feeder even though I have more than one for them to feed off of! Occasionally they get in our garage and I have to coax them out. Not an easy task! This image is a digi that was designed by Sandi Huggett for the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge. I think I will be using this one many times as hummingbirds are one of my favorite birds! Thanks Sandi for the cute design!

I'm also entering this card in the Spring Colors challenge at the Color Me Creative Challenge.

Happy Spring!

Happy Spring! According to the calendar, anyway!! Very cold and blustery here today! But this card I made for the Color Me Creative Challenge has spring written all over it. The theme was "Spring Colors".

My digi image is by Saturated Canary called Rose Red Princess!

Have a great day!

Easter Lamb for Tuesday Throwdown

This card is for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge. The theme is "paper piecing".  I used decorated paper for her dress and hair bow. And I used plain pink paper for her shoes and pantaloons. The lamb image is from Azadi Earles Stamp Company.

Are dinosaurs green? Of course they are!

I made a kid's birthday card using an all green theme for the Outlawz Friday Copic/Promarker Challenge. I colored the dinosaur with my copic markers. The dinosaur is a rubber stamp from All Night Media called Supersaurus!

Hope your week is dino-mite!

Oh, Medusa!

Well, last night I finally got around to coloring in Medusa! She was a digi by Betty QueenofWorry Roberts for Simply Betty Stamps. She was given to us free this month and here is my card coloring her with my copic markers. The "assignment" was to make a card using black, cream, and one other color. My "other color" is aqua. Here she is!

Happy Monday! (and the snow can melt away any time--didn't appreciate getting more this morning!)

Stamping Cat

Of course, anyone can stamp.....even cats, right?  Well, the kitty on the front of my card (Ala Art Stamps) definitely can ink up and stamp!  This kitty wishing someone a Purrrrfect Day (Make An Impression Stamps)  is done up as a gold butterscotch colored cat. This card is for the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge.

Our colors this week are Husky Orange, Dark Chocolate, and Glitzy Gold. The additonal twist is to add a Flourish.  Here is my card.

Have a great weekend!

Hippity-Hop!

Here is a card I made for Easter for the Outlawz Sketch Challenge. The little bunny is from D.O.T.S. (Close to my Heart Stamps). Decorated paper cut in strips makes my background and I love the little lilac colored paper flowers.

Have a great weekend! And beware the Ides Of March!!!

Hiya Sweet Cheeks!

Oh, this was a fun card to make! This innertube girl is from the newest collection from Simply Betty Stamps. The collection is the Betty Boo Collection and was a Secret Release, meaning that you went to the online store and purchased the set of digi stamps without knowing what they were.

And I was not disappointed. I loved all of them! The sentiments came with them, too, so that was an added bonus.

The image I picked to make a card with is Innertube Betty. Here is my card. Please go to the Secret Release Blog to see all the designs and more cards.

I'm also entering this card into the Outlawz Saturday Paper ala Mode Challenge-Anything Goes.

Have a great weekend!

A tune for you.....

This card features Cher, playing her guitar. She was the free digi image from Anne Fenton this month over at the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge.

I colored her with copic markers. She's a cute little gal and was fun to color. I added a sparkly quartz colored headband to her hair. Thanks, Anne for such a cute digi.

Have a super day!

March Fun!

I love March! We've got March Madness, warmer weather, longer days, and....................yep, leprechauns!!  to help us celebrate St. Pat's Day! Here is another St. Patrick's Day card featuring last months freebie digi image from Sandi Huggett at the Outlawz.

I am entering this card into the Outlawz Greeting Card Monday Challenge.  I colored with copic markers and used some sparkly green ribbon in the corners and topped off with white daisies!

Have a lucky day!

Shopping Girl

This card is for the Copic Promarker Challenge at the Outlawz. The theme this week is Fashion so of course, shopping is involved. And this girl looks mighty happy!

The image is a digi by Alicia Alva.  I colored her with copic markers.

Have a wonderful week (and hopefully we will lose this snow, although it is really pretty).

Sweet girl

This card features a digi image by Diane Caruba. She was generous enough to give it to the subscribers of Through the Craftroom Door Magazine. I colored the image with my copic markers and then when I was just about done......I dropped my marker by the little girl's face. It left a spot and even though I immediately grabbed the colorless blender, it wouldn't erase my mistake, so I cut out the image and mounted it on decorated paper.

I'm entering this card in the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. The twist this week is to make a Bingo, which no one is going to understand, but I chose to make my Bingo using Ribbon, Designer Paper, and Buttons/Brads.

Have a great day!

Hang in there......it'll get better!

Some time ago I bought a clear stamp set from Paper Studio that featured monkeys. Well, today, I finally decided to bring it out and make a card for the Outlawz Sketch Challenge.

Enjoy your week! Spring is coming!

Beautiful Vintage Lady

This morning I made a card for the Outlawz Color Challenge. Our color scheme this week is Black, White, and Light Brown with a Vintage twist.
My image is from Baubles by Bri Etsy Store called Belle Journee Vintage Collage. I colored her gown with copic markers and used Spellbinders dies. A little piece of black ribbon and a flower made it complete.
Here is my card.

Have a fantastic week, snow or no snow!!

Clown Fish

Who doesn't love a cute little clown fish? I colored this little clown fish for the Creative Freebie Challenge at the Outlawz. Roxann gave us the free digi image. Thanks, Roxann!

I think I will be using this image over and over. I just love it!

Have a great weekend!

Shades of Gray

No, not "those" shades of gray!  I made a card for the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Saturday Challenge. The challenge was to use a picture for inspiration. Here is the picture.

Eucalypt Homewares handcrafted ceramic works

I don't have papers with the delft blue designs but I have some patterned paper with gray patterns so I thought I would use that.

My sparrow image is a rubber stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs and the sentiment is from that company also. The inside of my card has a sympathy message.

Have a great weekend!

Geraniums are such happy flowers!

I love geraniums. They are so cheerful and make me feel like spring has really arrived. Of course, here in Iowa, it is a tad early to plant them but a month or so from now, I will be visiting my local greenhouse and getting on board. They come in so many colors and patterns. One of my favorites is the pink/salmon color and that is the variety I featured in my card using a free digi from Anne Fenton over at the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge.  Thank you Anne for the great image! I thoroughly enjoyed coloring in the basket as well as the flowers.

It's Thursday already. The weekend is coming!!!!!!!!! Enjoy your day!

Caterpillar Time!

I love caterpillars and I love purple so of course, what do we have? A purple caterpillar!  My image is called Celebrating Caterpillar and is  a digi from D2D. I used my Cuttlebug to cut my wonky die from Spellbinders and added some pretty sticker flowers from my box of treasures which is a collection of odds and ends and anything I can put on a card.

I made this card for the Color Me Creative Challenge. The optional twist is "Bugs/reptiles" so I'm thinking my caterpillar is a "bug".  I am also putting this in the Through the Craftroom Door Challenge.

Have a good week!!

Sweet kitty!

This card I made for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.  The theme this past week was "Thinking of You".   I started with the "Cat in Flower Pot" digi image by Guylou's Inimitability! I colored the kitty with copic markers to match my pretty decorated paper. One of my favorite color combinations.   I am also entering this card into the Outlawz Copic Promarker Challenge.

The Luck o' the Irish!!

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. I always look forward to it because a few days later, the calendar says it is SPRING!!!

I am entering this St. Patrick's Day card into the Outlawz Sketch Challenge. The leprechaun is a digi from Sandi Huggett! Thanks Sandi for such a cute little guy!

A Carnation For You

This morning I made a card for the Color Challenge at the Outlawz. The colors are Red Tomato, Extra White, and Dignified Blue. The special twist was to add some "Shine".

My card features an image by GinaK Designs. I colored it red with my copic markers and topped it with Judikins Diamond Glaze for some shine. You can't really see the shine but the diamond glaze gave the flower a glass-like appearance and really made the red color so much more vivid.

Hope your weekend is going great!

Happiness is having a little bling!

For the Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge that ends Monday, it is all about the "Bling". I made a card featuring a bird image from The Stamp Pad Co.

I colored the bird and flowers with my copic markers and added bling in the form of huge pink jewels, a bejeweled green paper butterfly, a glittered ribbon sticker at the bottom and the center of each flower is colored with gold Stickles. Oh and there is a pearl in the upper left corner above the "postmark".

Other stamps used are a flourish stamp from Me and Carrie Lou and a garden verse stamp from Paper Inspirations. My greeting is from GinaK Designs.

Enjoy your weekend!

Howl at the Moon!

This past week over at the Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge, our challenge was to  make a card using a "full moon" for our theme. After sorting through quite a few stamps, I came up with this image from the Embossing Arts Company called (appropriately) "Howling Wolf". I've had this stamp for a number of years but don't recall ever using it. That is the nice thing about these challenges. I am using some of my stamps that haven't been used for years or maybe never been used at all!

I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black by Memento onto some yellow-green decorated paper and then used a yellow copic marker to color in the moon and a tan colored copic marker to color the wolf. On Here is my card.

Here is the greeting on the inside!

Easy Christmas Thank You Cards

More snow today! I think we are in a pattern here. Maybe the drought is over!

My card today is a Christmas Thank You card that was so super-simple to make. I stamped my snowflakes in red and green on white cardstock. I trimmed it with a "plaid" stamp from Perfectly Plaid stamp set by Gina K Designs. Then I added the "Many Thanks" sentiment that I cut out with my oval die from Spellbinders. The large red snowflake is from D.O.T.S. (now Close to My Heart Stamps). The other snowflakes were just some stamps from my collection of snowflakes that weren't labeled with a company name. A very simple card and I made a set of 12 in about 10 minutes. I will keep them to use next Christmas!

This card will be entered into the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge that ends today.

Have a great weekend!!
