SBS Spring Basket Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Simply Betty Stamps Spring Basket Blog Hop. If you've been following the blogs, then you already know that we did a Spring Basket exchange of crafting goodies that we got for a "buddy" and mailed it to them in April. It was so much fun shopping for Melissa and trying to select things I thought she would enjoy. Pictured below is what she sent to me!

As you can see, I got quite an assortment of goodies--rubber stamps, ribbons, charms, jewels,
paper packs, a beautiful box, and yummy chocolate candy!
THANK YOU, MELISSA!

Betty gave us an image of a girl on a bicycle to use on a card.  Here is a closeup of the card that Melissa made for me! I think it is just awesome and I love that she decorated the inside of the card, too!

If you came from Summer Hills-Painter at http://1craftypainter.blogspot.com/, then you are in the right place for the SBS Spring Basket Blog Hop.  If you just got here by chance, then please by all means, follow the blogs that are listed below and hop your way through to the end. You will be glad you did!!  If you are following the blogs in order, the next stop is the very talented and lovely Veronica Chasteen Rosenshein http://www.artbyveronica.blogspot.com!  Happy blogging!

A Gift for You.....

This card I made for the Outlawz Copic Promarker Challenge. The optional twist was to make a Christmas card. I used my copic markers to color in a digi image by Diane Caruba called Little Bear's Present. I used a new Spellbinders set called Floral Ovals and I LOVE it! Here's my card!
Have a great day!

A Woodland baby....

Here is a card I made for CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge. It is a sweet digi image from NanaVic. I colored it with copic markers and mounted on some polka dot background paper. The "Baby" sentiment is from Kolette Hall Stamps. Hope you like my card!
Have a great week!

Hydrangeas are a favorite of mine

Hydrangeas come in so many different varietes and colors anymore but one of my favorites comes in a beautiful blue color. I made a card for the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge and the twist was to make a project using a background paper that we created. So for this one, I used a "shadow" stamp in baby blue Hero Arts ink and a dragonfly stamp (Southpaw Productions) also stamped in the same ink. It made a really nice background for my mounted Hydrangea stamp by Rubber Stampede that I colored in with copic markers.
Here's my card

Have a great day!

A Robot Hello

First chance I've had to use this little robot stamp from Sandy Lion and he sure is cute!

This week on the Monday Greeting Card Challenge at the Outlawz, the  task was to make our own background paper. I used a set from Stampin Up which included all the quirky little images you see plus the Hello greeting. I thought it went well with the little robot guy since he appears to be greeting someone with his arm up!! ( I did use a little confetti stamp from another stamp set by Stamping Up too.)

Here's my robot card!

Have a great weekend!

I've been busy.....

I haven't posted my blog for a week now. I have been here looking at the nice comments that have been left for me, though!

The reason I was absent was a good one! I decided I needed to clean out and reorganize my craft room! Was spending a lot of time looking for stuff and as I was digging stuff out I found some things I thought were lost forever (LOL) and I found some things I forgot I had!

So now I am raring to go with my cardmaking again and scrapbooking, too!  Last night in my newly organized room (no, I won't be posting photos because my little room is jampacked with stuff and to most people, it would still look like chaos--haha), I made three cards for some upcoming challenges. I will post each one separately. Here is the first one I made for the Outlawz Clean and Simple Sunday Challenge. The Challenge was "break the plane--which means floating part of your card "off the edges" which I actually did three times....two were mice and my birthday greeting is floating off the left edge a little bit.  The mouse stamp is from Stamp Oasis! There was not very good light this morning in my house so I was a little disappointed with the photo, but anyway, here it is!

I had a little shadow on the Happy Birthday! Hope you like my card!

Happy 90th Birthday

I was asked to make a birthday card for a young lady turning 90 in a couple of weeks. I made my sentiment on the computer and borrowed the design idea from this week's Sketch Challenge at the Outlawz. The flower below the sentiment is a sticker.

I think I'll enter this card in the Outlawz Saturday Paper Ala Mode Challenge.

Hope you like my card!

Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Here's my card for the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge. It gave me a chance to use my heart shaped dies from Spellbinders for the first time. There was no stamping on this card, just papers pieced together and some cute dragonfly brads on the four corners.

I would probably just use this card as a note card with a blank inside for writing.

I'm over the rainbow.....

This card is for the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge. I used a rainbow image and matching sentiment, both by BackToPaper. I put Polar White Flower Soft on my clouds.

Here's my card.
Have a rainbow kind of day!

You're my ray of sunshine.......

This card features a digi image and digi sentiment, both from Simply Betty Stamps.

I colored with copic markers and I am entering this card into the CDAC Seasonal Fun Challenge and the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge.  The theme is April Showers.

No rain here today....now that's a nice change.

To have and to hold....

I made this card for a wedding in May that regrettably I can't attend. The wedding is in Vegas and I sure would love to go as 1) I've never been to Vegas and 2) it would be a fun getaway. But my work schedule and a failing dog will not let me get away even for a long weekend.

As I didn't know the couple's wedding colors, I noticed there was teal on the invitation, so therefore I used teal for my accent color. I really like doing all white wedding cards with just a splash of color for interest.

I'm also entering this card in the Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge. It was very simple to make, just an accent layer, embossed (Cuttlebug) layer, some sticky back white ribbons from Paper Studio, and my stamped (Gina K. Designs) sentiment layered on the Peony Spellbinders Die. Sounds like a lot but it went together in about 10 minutes or less. Therefore, "Clean and Simple".  I'm also entering this card in the Through the Craftroom Door Magazine Challenge.

Here's my wedding card!

Elaine all done up in purple

I made a card for the Facebook Fan Page Challenge using a very cute and fun image named Elaine, which was drawn by Betty Roberts of Simply Betty Stamps in honor of her sister Elaine who happens to love cats.

Betty was kind enough to give us the Elaine image for free and the challenge is to use Elaine with swirls and ribbons.

Here is my card

Have a purrfect weekend.....sorry, couldn't resist that!

Birthday Tulips

Here is another card I did for the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge. The image is a freebie by Sandi Huggett that was given to us to use this month in the Challenge. Very elegant image, I think!
Hope you like my card!

TGIF!

Birthday Balloons

What's a birthday without balloons and an adorable teddy bear to hand them out!  The colored image on my card today is a freebie from Anne Fenton and was available this month to those who played in the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge. Isn't he cute? I colored him with copic markers and found a Happy Birthday sticker to match the balloons. Here's my card

Have a great day!

Shopping girls!!

The card I made for the Outlawz Saturday Paper Ala Mode Challenge has an image from Penny Black with shopping ladies. I guess they were shopping for shoes....look how big their bags are and the verse I used echoes that!!

Thanks for stopping by and looking!

Birds, Butterflies, Blossoms

Sure signs of spring....birds, butterflies and blossoms. We are just starting to see some blossoms in the likes of daffodils and some early blooming tulips. But not much else yet. It is raining pretty good today so it won't be long now.

I've seen some moths, but not a butterfly yet and most of the birds that wintered down south are back. Still some snowbirds lingering around. I had bluebirds all winter...don't know WHY they stuck around!

This week at the Outlawz Copic/Promarker Challenge, the theme is Winged and my card below shows a hummingbird and a butterfly. All three stamps are from the same set and I apologize for not knowing the company name. It was a cling stamp set I bought at Archivers but apparently I didn't keep the insert with the company name. Next time I am in the store, I will look for it.
I used copic markers to color in my images.
Looks like rain all day today! Stay dry and warm!

There's rain in the forecast....

There's rain in the forecast. Well for Saturday anyway!  So be sure and grab your umbrella.

Here's a card I made for The CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge.

It is a digi image of an umbrella designed by NanaVic for CDAC. I colored it with copic markers and added a gray spica glitter marker to the umbrella handle and to the polka dots on the umbrella. Then I mounted it on some paper along with a sentiment, "rain or shine you're a friend of mine". Added a sticker flower and done! Very simple card if you only have a few minutes.
Here's my card!

Stay dry!

Food for Thought

Here's a card I'm entering into the Color Me Creative Challenge (theme is RED) and the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge (theme is FOOD).

The little girl is Apple Annie and she is from Digistamps4joy.  I colored her with copic markers and mounted her on various shades of red patterned papers.  Hope you like her!

Love is patient....Love is kind

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4–8a

This has always been one of my favorite Bible scriptures. I've heard it many times at weddings and funerals. Today, I am thinking of all those affected by the bombing at the Boston Marathon yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with them for comfort and strength and healing.

My card today features that very same Bible scripture and is a rubber stamp by the Unity Stamp Company. The butterfly stamp is from the same set.  I made my card for the Outlawz Sketch Challenge. I have left the inside blank so I can use this card for a sympathy card or maybe a wedding card.

Have a great day!

Blah, Blah, Blah....Whad ya say?

The Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge this past week called for a "froggie" theme.  I went through my rubber stamps and found a cute stamp by Art Impressions.

As I couldn't find an appropriate sentiment to go with the frog image, I decided to try my hand at making my own. I knew the writing part would be easy and I knew what I wanted to say, but didn't know how to make one frog saying his line and the other (bored one) thinking his. But when I was in Word writing my sentiment, I started looking around at Shapes and Voila! there was my solution. I had to resize it a couple of times and make the cloud and conversation shape transparent, but I was happy that I learned how to do something today. I saved it in Word just in case I want to use those sentiments again!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Just waitin' for the tulips to bloom....

I'm just waitin' for the tulips to bloom! Mother Nature is sure taking her time letting spring arrive this year! But I have another way of seeing tulips! Putting them on a greeting card.

I'm entering this card in the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge.  Here's some tulips for ya!

Have a good weekend!

Rain or shine.....you're a friend of mine!

That's right! Rain or shine......you're a friend of mine! And we are getting rain this week. It is greatly needed but tomorrow sounds like the rain may become snow for awhile. Hope not....we'll see!
I made the card below for the Outlawz Copic/promarker Challenge. I used copic markers to color my image. This cute digi image is from Digistamps4joy.

This card is going to a good friend for her birthday! She sees me through all kinds of stormy weather!!

Have a good day!

Twisted Thursday Challenge at the Outlawz

7:30 p.m. and it is STILL somewhat light outside. Love that! But anyway.........  I have a card that I made for the Twisted Thursday Outlawz Challenge. This week, the "twist" was to add something musical and/or singing. So I chose a House Mouse design that has a mouse happily singing away with his bluebird friend perched on a stump surrounded by "just about to bloom" thistles. Haha!

I colored the image with copic markers. I got to use a new die for the first time, too, so was excited about that. It is a leafy die from Joy!Crafts and I really love it. Here's my card and hope you like it!

Have a great week!

Missing you....

You know that awful feeling when you miss a good friend so much? Well this lovely lady from Art Impressions is showing us how she feels!! This is too funny! I colored her with copic markers and I am entering my card in the Outlawz Sketch Challenge. Here's my card!

Have a fantastic week!

Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge

It's been a few days since I've posted. Haven't been that terribly busy, but had some projects to complete. For one, my craft room was such a chaotic mess, it was getting difficult to find anything. I would put something down and then look around for it for half an hour! So I just gave in and decided to reorganize. Can't say how long it will stay that way though. But for now, I'm happy!

The weather is warming up so I am wanting to get outside and do some things too. But I did manage to put this card together in a few minutes. It is for the Outlawz Clean and Simple Challenge. Was very simple, just stamped a flower and sentiment from Gina K. Designs, used my Cuttlebug, mounted on paper, and that was it! Here it is!

Ooh La La!!

Every couple of weeks, over at the Outlawz Freebie Challenge, we are given a couple of freebie digi images to play around with and see what we come up with. On occasion, there has been as many as three and that is indeed a real treat!
The first card features an adorable duck holding a teddy bear by Sandi Huggett.  I was going to make a baby card, then decided as I was searching through sentiments, that I would make a "support" card. You know when a friend needs some support and you just want to let them know you are there for them........... so I colored in the image with my copic markers and mounted it on some purple paper which I mounted on some awesome purple plaid paper.  And well......... here it is!

The other card I made uses a digi image by Anne Fenton and I call this one Ooh LaLa! Because that is what I would say if I met this woman at a party!  Ooh LaLa!! I colored her gown in emerald green which is supposedly the "it" color this spring and summer. Her sash is in sparkly black along with her belt and necklace. I used some glittery lime green designer paper for the mounted background.

Have a great week!

Fancy

This card features Fancy, a cute little digi from Saturated Canary. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. I colored her with copics and added little pearls to her hair. Her gown has been enhanced with a Sakura glaze pen.

I am entering this card into the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge and the Color Me Creative Challenge.

Just Tia

This card features "Just Tia", a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil. I think he is my favorite canine stamp. I colored him with copic markers and this card goes into the Outlawz Copic/Promarker Challenge.

Here is "Just Tia"!

April finally made it

Nice to have April on the calendar now. March is just one of the months that you never know what the weather is going to bring. I didn't post yesterday for April Fool's Day, but I was busy working like a fool to put out 6 cards last night. Here is one I made for the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. The twist was to use birds and/or butterflies. My card has a little butterfly and I am going to use it for a sympathy card. The image is a digi from Baubles by Bri.
