Sooooooo, Happy Birthday Through the Purple Haze Challenges!! Anita, Fiona, and all the girls are putting on a week long party for ya!!
This is Day 2 of the birthday celebration week and every day this week we have a birthday blog hop for you. We will be finishing up on Sunday. If you missed yesterday's blog hop, you may want to go back and take a look because Anita and Fiona are giving away blog candy for commenting. In fact, I urge you to visit Through the Purple Haze Challenges every day this week. There will be a short blog hop each day to help us celebrate. In addition to our usual weekly prize, we are giving away a blog candy prize for COMMENTING!! YOU MUST USE THE WORD BIRTHDAY SOMEWHERE IN YOUR COMMENT!! So please leave a comment on each daily challenge blog. All the comments left that use the magic word will go into a random drawing!
And all of us participating in the blog hops would love to see your comments along the way for each day of this birthday week! And some of the Design Team girls are giving out a prize of their own just for commenting on their blog this weeklong party!!
I will be giving out a prize of digi images from one of the week's sponsors, too, just for commenting on my blog this birthday week! There is a small catch though. In your comment, you must use the word PURPLE!! haha, now that's not too hard since the challenge is THROUGH THE PURPLE HAZE CHALLENGES!! I will randomly select a winner from all the comments left on my blog this week and will pick the winner on July 23rd so you have plenty of time to comment!! DON'T FORGET TO USE THE MAGIC WORD....(SEE ABOVE)!!
When you enter our Anything Goes challenge, you will be so glad you did!! Each day of the week, we are being sponsored by a different company. So there are 7 sponsors with 7 prizes given out!! How wonderful is that??? And one of our sponsors is giving away a free digi image to every one of our entrants. So don't miss a day or you miss out!!
Today, Tuesday, we have Stitchy Bear sponsoring our celebration. Be sure to stop at the online shop and see all the great things there!!!
I am totally hooked on these digital papers. You get an 8.5 x 11 inch paper pack of 8 designs that all coordinate beautifully with each other. All for the low price of $2.20. What a bargain!! And it was the perfect opportunity to try an envelope pocket card which I had just seen done by some of my online blogging friends. It came together so quickly thanks to an Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope.
For instructions on how to make one of these Envelope Pocket cards, here is a link to a youtube video by Theresa Momber. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-WrbawSTtE
Things you will need:
Envelope or an Envelope Punch Board if you make your own envelope.
Adhesive
Large Crimper
Papers and embellies
Dies for focal image and punches for flowers
I used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to make a 5.5 inch square envelope and to make the bow. After assembling the envelope and gluing it closed, I cut off the top part of the envelope---this will be your top that fits over the bottom. That is where the crimper comes in. You must crimp your bottom part of the envelope so that it will be corrugated and the top will fit on nicely. I had to run it through my crimper several times since I was using a heavier cardstock.
The die I used was Carnival Dreams from Spellbinders. It is one of those Fold and Tuck dies. I just love it!
For my red flowers, I just used a petal punch from Stampin Up! The embellies that I used were from my stash. Add the bow and you are done!
I really hope you will try this project. A department store gift card fits perfectly in here.
You should have arrived here from the CHALLENGE BLOG. If you have randomly found
yourself here, you may want to start at the beginning of the hop so you
don't miss anything!! The entire list is below.
