It's an easy great sketch! Here is my card using Faith from The East Wind.

 

 

I used papers from my stash and used my Cuttlebug to cut Spellbinders Labels 4 to get my image into the desired shape.

I used Copic markers B00 and B000 for highlighting around the printed image.

Through the Purple Haze Blog Hop Winner

Hi everyone! This is Darcy and I just drew the winner from the 42 names in a basket of all those that commented on my blog during the Through the Purple Haze Challenges Birthday Week!!

All you had to do was use the word PURPLE in your comments and your name went into the draw!!


I made a short video showing me drawing a name and here is the video. My first video using the iphone and it cut off a little at the end before I could thank everyone for commenting!!!


Well, something went wrong with the video so I am deleting it. There is no audio and the Play button isn't working, so I will just tell you that Susan Kennedy is the winner of a $10 voucher at Scrapper's Delights.

I colored my image with Copic markers. All of the papers are from my stash. The little tag off in the corner is from my stash also and is a sticker. I used some think green wire to come off the tag. It was actually some floral stems I trimmed off of a paper flower. ( I never throw anything away........that was a GOOD thing in this case!)

The Happy Birthday stamp is from Gina K Designs.

Through the Purple Haze Challenges #51 Distressing

Well, the birthday week is over at Through the Purple Haze Challenges although you may still enter the challenge there for another week yet!



But time marches on and so do we!! It is Challenge #51 and we have an exciting sponsor!

My card is made with Blossom from Delicious Doodles. I am not real big into distressing as I tend to make girly and cute cards, but this was fun especially with this gorgeous image. I decided to use mainly blue colors.  I totally love my Tim Holtz Burlap Distressing Stencil and I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks for my background layer with the stencil. I randomly stamped a butterfly in black. I don't even know the maker of the stamp as it is a really old wooden one and doesn't have a company name on it.. I added a sponged in wood butterfly and some washi tape and some jewels and I was done!

 

 

 

I colored my image with Copic markers.

Here is my card using Freddy the frog. I actually gave this card to my grandson for his 4th birthday and he LOVED it.  Made me soooooo ribbeting happy! Hahaha...... a little frog humor!

 

 

I colored Freddy with my Copic markers and added some flowers from some new Spellbinders sets that I got Flower Power 1 and Flower Power 2. The LOVE is a die from Tattered Lace called Everyday Sentiments.  Hope you like my card!

 

For the inside, I just used some stickers to go with my computer generated sentiment.

For my card, I used the Tattered Lace Oriental Crane Die set and the Everyday Sentiments set. The Oriental Crane set comes with two cranes of two different sizes and a cattails.

For the setting sun, I just cut a circle to use as a mask and sponged Memento Inks over the masked area to sponge my background. After I lifted the circle mask it was stark white, so I sponged some yellow ink over the circle area and just placed my larger Crane and three Cattails on the background layer.  I finished off with a brown glittery ribbon in the lower corner. 

 

The "Especially for You" sentiment is part of the Everyday Sentiments set by Tattered Lace. This set has about every sentiment you can think of.

The image I got to work with was the Peacock. I decided to go with an "untraditional" peacock color and colored my images with soft browns and blues. I used Copic markers to color and I really liked how soft looking it turned out. Hope you like it too!
