Trick or Treat!

A year ago, I wasn't blogging.  I didn't actually start blogging until January so I missed out on Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving blogs but oh, my, am I ever making up for it. I've lost track how many Halloween cards I've made this year, but there's been a bunch.  And here is another one.
Gerda from Gerda Steiner Designs runs a monthly challenge and so far I have entered each one. The really cool thing is that she gives you a freebie digital image just for signing up to follow her newsletter. So if anyone is looking for a link to her newsletter, let me share it HERE.

The image for this month is a Trick or Treat image which I've featured on my card below!

I combined this challenge with a couple of other ones:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch is below and I turned it on it's side to coincide with my image orientation)

Another Challenge I entered was the 613 Avenue Create Challenge that has a Create Your Own Challenge theme this week.

Here is  the chart to Create Your Own challenge

What I used ---   Column 1: image, patterned paper, solid color paper
Column 2:  any sketch (Sweet Sketch Wednesday)
Column 3: Stickles
Column 4: bling
Column 5: twine

Other challenges I'm entering with this card:

Creative Freebie Challenge at the Outlawz Part 1

Creative Freebie Challenge Part 1-----because I only have one of the images made into a card .....so far!! I hope to get the second image done tonight and then...............there will be Part 2.

So here is my card using the image by Anne Fenton.   Thanks, Anne for the Bee on Zinnia image.

I colored my image with copic markers:
       Zinnia:  RV19, RV04, RV02, Y38   Stem YG61
       Bee:   RV02, W1
Background around flower:  Colorless Blender and G0000

I cut out the image with my Cuttlebug using a scalloped circle die by Spellbinders.
I cut out a second bumble bee and popped it on with a pop dot.
I stamped my sentiment on the layered patterned paper and that was it! Very simple.

Thanks for looking!
Darcy

Outlawz Sketch Challenge October 16-22

The Design Team at the Outlawz Sketch Challenge has done it again!!! They have totally amazed me at what great inspiration cards they can come up with from a sketch (BELOW)!!

I didn't know if I wanted to make a "gatefold" card or one that just had two matching papers meet in the middle, but I chose the latter choice.

Here's my card from the sketch!

Sandi's Samples is our sponsor all month and someone will get a lovely prize for winning the monthly prize. My card is 6 x 6 inches square. I colored the image by Sandi Huggett (Sandi's Samples) with copic markers and used some patterned papers for my background layers.

Normally, I stick pretty close to the sketch, but my central image just seemed to be "floating" out there and so I varied away from the sketch just a little by adding a gold colored embellie to each corner to finish it off.  I think it added some much needed balance.

Hope you will visit the challenge and play along!

I'm also entering my card in:
Sister Act Card Challenge - card
Make It Monday - comment
Lady Anne's Challenge - stamp
613 Avenue Create - Pile It On

Have a great day!!

Through the Purple Haze Challenges #14--Lacy Sunshine and A Hint of Food

Good Monday morning, peeps!!!

It's Monday and we have another new challenge at Through the Purple Haze Challenges!!  First, our sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine Stamps and the theme is "A Hint of Food!" So grab up your food themed stamps and come join us in the challenge this week.

Lacy Sunshine Stamps will be giving away $20 in digis for this week's winner!

The Design Team members got to choose an image and I picked Lil Scoop Sticky Wings

Here's my card

Background paper is some pretty strawberry paper from my stash
Image is Lil Scoop Sticky Wings by Lacy Sunshine
I colored Lil Scoop with copic markers
Skin: E000, E02, R20
Hair: Y21, YR12, Y28
Eyes: B000
Ice Cream: R21
Cone: E30
Dress and ribbons: R30, R21, G24 (ribbons and socks)
I used a Spellbinders Die called Fancy Ribbon Threader ( I cut the bottom part off--long story, short version is that it tore when I took the paper off the die....I wasn't being very careful). Actually like the way it turned out though! Instead of ribbon, I used a matching red piece of paper and threaded floss all around the border.
I added four pearls and a flower embellie and my card is done!

Hope you will check out the challenge and see what the other design team members came up with!!

                                          Have a fantastic week!!

Sending Hope

The TSC Recipes Facebook Fan Challenge this week is featuring a digital image by Tamara at The Stamping Chef called Sending Hope. It was a freebie for a limited time and we have until Sunday night to get our image colored up and entered into the challenge.

This is a beautiful image and just about everyone is familiar with the pink ribbon for breast cancer.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If this cancer hasn't affected someone you love or know, it will! There has been a lot of progress in this terrible disease, but more research is needed! If you are able, please give to one of the many cancer charities this month. Your money really does help.

I colored my image with copic markers and layered it with some patterned papers from my stash. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs. My card:

Copics I used:
Skin: E000 E11 R30
Lips: RV04
Eyes: B32 B93
Hair: 100 C7 C5 YR27 Y28
Top:  RV00 RV02 RV06 (Ribbon)

Have a great weekend!!

OUTLAWZ CREATIVE FREEBIE CHALLENGE

Every couple of weeks there is a new Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge! We are given two images to get creative with. First, I will start with the image so generously given to us by Anne Fenton. It is called Floral Swag and here is my card!

As always, I used copic markers to color my image. The fancy bottom of the white cardstock is actually a happy little accident. I used a die from the Radiant Rectangles set by Spellbinders and it didn't cut all the way through, so I just cut off the bad part. I kind of like how it turned out. The background paper is purchased paper from my stash.

My second card features an image from Sandi Huggett.  It is a Hibiscus.
Here's my card and once again, my coloring is done with copic markers.

Thanks, Sandi and Anne for the lovely images!!
Darcy

Outlawz Sketch Challenge October 2 - 8

If it is Wednesday, it is time for another sketch challenge at the Outlawz!!  Here is the lovely sketch!

Our sponsor for the month of October is Sandi Huggett and her store is called Sandi Samples.

Here is my card using one of her images. This one is Lady Kathleen!

My sentiment is from Gina K Designs and I used copic markers to color my image:
Skin: E000, E00, R20
Hair: W5
Gown: YR02, YR82, YR000
Flowers on Hat: Y35, YR02, YG61 (leaves)

Hope you will hop right over to the OUTLAWZ SKETCH CHALLENGE and see what other inspirational cards the rest of the Design Team came up with!

Happy October!!
