50's Chic by Sheepski Designs

I recently won the image 50's Chic by Sheepski Designs in the SheepskiDesigns Facebook challenge and I thought it was the perfect image to do some paper piecing for the Through the Craft Room Door special challenge. The challenge technique is paper piecing and the themes are Girls, Travel, or Graduation. I chose Girls, but I think the sentiment might also apply to Graduation.

Before doing the paper piecing, I colored my image with Copic markers. After running the lavender patterned paper through my printer, I then cut out the dress and glued it on top of the colored image. I used a gray copic marker to highlight the belt and upper part of the bodice. I added a couple of Itty Bitty Sparkles by Close to my Heart to the belt. My sentiment is by Stampin' Up!  I used a stitched label die by Gina Marie to frame the sentiment.  I found a piece of complementary lavender floral paper from the same paper stack as the dress paper. I finished off with some randomly placed rhinestones.(Stampin' Up!)

I'm also entering this into Andrea's SheepskiDesigns Facebook Challenge #14

Thanks for dropping by my little blog! I appreciate visitors so much! Have a great day!
