August Progressive Challenge at the Outlawz

Hello everyone!

It's August now! Summer is going too fast!

We have a new Progressive challenge at the Outlawz  that starts August 1 and runs through August  31st!  Jean Chaney, my friend and teammate at the Outlawz has provided two images this month. They are called Swish, the Angelfish and Swish, Tangled.

Here is a word from Jean about her images.
As a Certified Zentangle teacher, I feel it is important for you to know that these images, while using some of the patterns of Zentangle are in actuality ZIA’s (Zentangle Inspired Art). The Zentangle® method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to use structured patterns to create beautiful images. Do read more about this method from the founders of this meditative approach to art on their website. Zentangle.com
For ZIA, images can be drawn and filled with patterns. Color may be added. Two images have been provided this month. One filled with tangles and the other leaves room to add your own if you choose. Color away and enjoy. I’m looking forward to seeing your creative additions.

Here are my cards. Hope you will stop by the challenge and see what my teammates have made with these super cute images!

This card is with the image, Swish, Tangled. Jean has created a little scene with Swish and is part of the image. I colored with Copic markers and just used some papers, ribbon, and washi tape from my stash of supplies.  A white Faber Castell Pitt Pen made the white dots.

This card has Jean's image, Swish the Angelfish and I colored him/her with my Copic markers. The background scenery is an underwater digi by Make It Crafty.

Loving Some Cows at the Outlawz Festive Friday's Challenge

Friday finally got here!! We have a new challenge  at the Outlawz Festive Friday's Challenge! Each week we give you four themes to choose from and you can enter up to three times per week!

The themes this week are  For the Love of Cows, Playing Cards, Garden Veggies,  and Christmas.

For my theme, I picked For the Love of Cows and made a Thank You card.

This card came together in less than 10 minutes. Minimal coloring with Copic markers on my cute Bugaboo image from the Mini Animals Sentiment set. I used a circle die to cut out the printed image and then layered onto my floral paper (which I've had for ages but didn't have the right use for it until now!!) I added a sheer ribbon and it was done! The inside is blank for writing a thank you message.
The finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

I hope you will visit Festive Friday's at the Outlawz and see what my teammates have made!

Bugaboo is always our sponsor for the Festive Friday's Challenge and is giving a great prize of 4 digital images to our lucky July winner! Please visit Bugaboo as they are so generous with their prizes and we simply couldn't have challenges without them!

Fun in the Sun at Outlawz Sketch Challenge 7-26-2017

Time for a new Sketch Challenge at the Outlawz!

As July winds down, and we look forward to August, I have to say I've really enjoyed using the Drawn by Krista images this month. Images don't get much cuter than this!

Drawn by Krista has sponsored us all month. Our July winner will get to choose 3 digis from Krista's Etsy Shop.

I can't wait to show you my card. But first, I will show you our sketch for this week!

And for my Fun in the Sun card, I chose images from the Beach Set by Drawn by Krista.

I used Copic markers to color in the three images in the squares. The Fun in the Sun sentiment is by Close to my Heart and available only during July.  The little green felt bow is by Stampin' Up! My background paper is from my stash and I wish I had more of it!

Hope you will come by the Outlawz Sketch Challenge and see what my talented teammates have come up with!

Thanks for dropping in! I love having visitors!

50's Chic by Sheepski Designs

I recently won the image 50's Chic by Sheepski Designs in the SheepskiDesigns Facebook challenge and I thought it was the perfect image to do some paper piecing for the Through the Craft Room Door special challenge. The challenge technique is paper piecing and the themes are Girls, Travel, or Graduation. I chose Girls, but I think the sentiment might also apply to Graduation.

Before doing the paper piecing, I colored my image with Copic markers. After running the lavender patterned paper through my printer, I then cut out the dress and glued it on top of the colored image. I used a gray copic marker to highlight the belt and upper part of the bodice. I added a couple of Itty Bitty Sparkles by Close to my Heart to the belt. My sentiment is by Stampin' Up!  I used a stitched label die by Gina Marie to frame the sentiment.  I found a piece of complementary lavender floral paper from the same paper stack as the dress paper. I finished off with some randomly placed rhinestones.(Stampin' Up!)

I'm also entering this into Andrea's SheepskiDesigns Facebook Challenge #14

Thanks for dropping by my little blog! I appreciate visitors so much! Have a great day!

Ladies' Night

It's Friday!! We have a new challenge  at the Outlawz Festive Friday's Challenge! Each week we give you four themes to choose from and you can enter up to three times per week!

The themes this week are  Camping, It is all about ladies, Trains,  and Christmas.

I chose the Ladies theme so I could use my new Bugaboo image.

I colored with copic markers and used paper from my stash. The red glitter butterfly was punched with a Stampin' Up! punch. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set.
The finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

I hope you will visit Festive Friday's at the Outlawz and see what my teammates have made!

Outlawz Sketch Challenge July 19, 2017

Oops! Typed the wrong date up above and had to correct it!  It is not July 7th!

We have a new sketch at the Outlawz Sketch Challenge!

Our sponsor this month is Drawn by Krista. Our July winner will get to choose 3 digis from Krista's Etsy Shop.

Okay, now here is our sketch for this week!

And here is the card I made using Elephant Holding Cupcake. I didn't even realize I had turned the sketch until I saw my teammates' cards posted. Oh, well, we are allowed to turn and flip if we want to! LOL  I had a little mishap with this card after it was all put together. I was using some Nuvo glitter paste to put on the cupcake and some of it globbed (is that a word??) onto the poor elephant's trunk. I got it removed as quickly as I could but a little bit of shine remained and you can see the darker area on him. But since I was making this for a child, I didn't suppose a kid would even notice, much less mind my little goof. After all, it is a hand made card and well, things happen!!

Hope you will come by the Outlawz Sketch Challenge and see what my talented teammates have come up with!

Bumble Bees at Festive Friday's Outlawz Challenge

It's Friday!! We have a new challenge  at the Outlawz Festive Friday's Challenge! Each week we give you four themes to choose from and you can enter up to three times per week!

The themes this week are  Men's Birthday Cards, Bumble Bees,  Lets Go Swimming,  and Christmas.

For me, it had to be Bumble Bees! I had the cutest Bugaboo image that I wanted to use and was so excited to be able to use it for this week's theme!  I colored it with Copic markers and just used papers and gems from my stash. The sentiment is from a stamp set by Inkadinkadoo.

The finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

I hope you will visit Festive Friday's at the Outlawz and see what my teammates have made!

We have a new sketch at the Outlawz Sketch Challenge!

Our sponsor this month is Drawn by Krista. Our July winner will get to choose 3 digis from Krista's Etsy Shop.

Okay, now here is our sketch for this week!

And here is the card I made using the frog and lilypads from the Frog, Lilypad, and Fly set. I colored with Copic markers There is actually a color called Waterlily in my Copic markers so I used that to color them. The printed paper is from my stash and so is the heart sticker border. I used Stampin' Up punches to make my flowers and leaves at the top and an EK Success punch for the greenery.
