Happy St. Patrick's Day to Ewe

That's right! Happy St. Patrick's Day to Ewe! Okay, so I am a little bit early. Like a week! St. Patick's Day is actually March 17th,  but at Festive Friday's Challenge at the Outlawz, we are starting the celebration early! I'm not Irish but I certainly do love everything about St. Paddy's Day! I've had my home decorations up since the day after Valentine's Day. Gotta love those leprechauns and shamrocks!

Back to the Festive Friday's Challenge...........we have four themes every week and you already know that St. Patrick's Day is one of them. The other three themes are Something Pink, a Card with a Christmas Star, and New Puppy.

I made two cards this week and both are for St. Patrick's Day.

Here is my first card using an image and sentiment by our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps. I colored the image with my Copic markers and layered the image behind a window card that I found when trying to organize my craft room. I sponged Emerald Envy ink (Stampin' Up!) around my sentiment layer. The flower was made by using my Stampin' Up! flower punches. I was going to decorate the green flower with Stickles and then decided it didn't really need it. I had to use some restraint there because I love putting Stickles on about every card I make! Instead, I finished off with some green gems from my stash.

My second card was fun to make. First I colored an image drawn by my teammate, Anne Fenton. I colored with Copic markers. The background layer was an experiment inspired by a youtube video I watched. I took some hot pressed watercolor paper and using a large flat brush started covering the paper with water and then just started dropping shades of green watercolor paint onto the paper and turned my paper every which way to get the colors to run into each other. While it was still wet, I gave it a couple of squirts of green Color Burst powder and got a nice effect. I kept the wet paper taped down overnight and the next morning removed the tape and really liked the pretty green color background.  Here is my card.  The stitching around the image layer is a rectangle die by Gina Marie. The sentiment is an actual stamp I've had for a loooooong time!  Years! I finished with some green gems from my stash.

Hope you will drop by our Festive Friday's Challenge!
