Simply Betty Challenges

So glad it's Friday.............that means the weekend is almost here.

I'm doing double duty here in this blog. I have two Simply Betty cards to show off. One is for the Simply Challenged Challenges and the other is for the February Facebook Fanpage Challenge, both sponsored by Simply Betty Stamps.

For the Simply Challenged Challenge, we are to use "faces only" cropped versions of our SBS images.  I chose April Showers Rio n Toots.  Image available in the Simply Betty Stamps Store.

For the February Facebook Fanpage Challenge, we are to use one, two, or all three of the February images from Simply Betty Stamps. Our choices are Chickie Elisabete, Egg-cited Corinne, or Bunny Betty. I have all three of these awesome images, but chose to do Egg-cited Corinne. Oh, and each image had its own theme. Egg-cited Corinne needs to be done up in pastels. Well, that is how I make most of my cards, so that came easy. Here is my card.

Hope you will stop by these challenges and take a look.
Have a great weekend, everyone!!

You're fabulous............

Can cats and mice live happily together?? Well, I think they can.....as long as the kitty doesn't have a problem with it!!!

The very first challenge at East Wind Challenge Blog ends tonight in about an hour and a half, so I am truly getting this in under the wire!!  The theme is Love......

For my card, I used Couch Cat Vi from the East Wind Etsy Store. Loads of digital stamps to pick from. I bought the couch cat and a few others...........

I used a sticker from my stash that says "You're Fabulous". I'm sure there must be a sarcastic tone to this as there is one very stuffed happy mouse sitting close by and a portrait of a mouse on the wall. My mice are stickers from House Mouse that I have had for years and years. Glad to finally find a use.

Well, now that I have the blog written, I need to get this card linked up before it's too late. Wish me luck!
                         Oh, yeah, here's my card!!!

I used Copic markers to color my image and my fussy cutting wasn't very good.
Looks better in real life. The pattern on the couch was made with help from my colorless blender.

I'm entering my card is this challenge:
Creative Corner - bits and scraps from stash

Have a good night!

California Dreamin'

If you remember the song by the Mamas and the Papas called California Dreamin'...........well, that dates you, hahaha! But I won't tell. That song is one of my favorite songs of all time and the theme at Dragonfly Dreams Challenge is Favorite Song.

My image is by Make It Crafty and is called Beach Chair. I printed my sentiment on the computer.

The three beach balls are actually brads that I got from Eyelet Outlet. The strip across the top is a sticker strip from my stash. I colored the image with my Copic markers.

We are having another wind chill advisory tonight so this just makes me feel warm and cozy!

Have a great day!

Lollipop, anyone??

Well, I've had the whole month of February to get my card completed for the Art by Miran facebook challenge. I've had my Lollipop Leslie colored up for awhile, just wasn't sure how to make it a "girly girl" card as this is the theme! Lollipop Leslie is in the Etsy store now if you missed the deadline for getting her free!

But with a little help from my floral papers as the background and embossing folder and my Spellbinders Floral Ovals die, I think it looks girly enough!

Mi Ran Jung, the owner of Art by Miran gave us the image to work with for this challenge and I think it is just so sweet, no pun intended! A ribbon and gem to finish it off!

I colored my image with Copic Markers:
Skin: E21, E11, R20, R83
Eyes: B45, B41
Hair: Y28, Y26, Y21
Clothing: R29, B97
Shoes: C2, RV0000
Sucker YR16, R29, Stick C2
Floor: N1

Other challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes

Have a great day!

Through the Purple Haze Challenges #30 - use pencils

A new challenge at Through the Purple Haze Challenges!

Through The Purple Haze Challenges

Derwent is our sponsor this week. They manufacture fine drawing and coloring pencils.

Derwent

This week's challenge is to use colored pencils. You may draw your design or use pencils to color in your design. Since I can't draw, I stamped a Penny Black image called Fanciful (cling stamp from a set of two stamps) and used Derwent soft pencils to color in my flowers. The two colors I used were Indigo and Fuschia. I put Diamond Stickles on the tips. My card is pretty plain and simple but it is a sympathy card so no need to fussy it up.

Here is my card:

I hope you will stop by the challenge and see what the other team members have come up with. There are some real beauties there!

Challenges I will enter:
Squirrel and the Fox- spooled, use ribbon, twine, lace, or thread
Make It Monday - comments
Open Minded Crafting Fun - make it monochrome
Love to Create - Anything Goes

Have a great and crafty week!!!

I love it when the Outlawz has a Surprise! color challenge. They give an inspiration photo and one color to use! We get to pick the other two colors and the theme!
Here is the inspiration picture! The chosen color is Rose Red!

For my other two colors I chose, Warm Grey and Leafy Green! And for the twist: SWIRLS

I used Spellbinders Circles Nestabilities and Framed Fancy Tags, also from Spellbinders.

New Outlawz Sketch Challenge February 12, 2014

There's a new Sketch Challenge posted over at the Outlawz and I think it is one of the best ones yet!

Here's the sketch!

Our sponsor all month is Make It Crafty and I used Jojo Petal Sprite as my focal image.

Here is the card I made for the challenge!

Recipe:
"Jojo" image printed on Cryogen cardstock.
I colored the image with Copic markers.
Used my Cuttlebug to cut the image out with the Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Hearts die
and a slightly smaller die from the same set cut from pink cardstock.
All papers are from my card stash.
The gold filigree embellishments up in the corners were items from a swap I participated in last year. I fastened with Doodlebug brads onto punched out flower shapes.
The border of hearts is actually cardstock stickers from my stash.
I finished it off with a border of Diamond Stickles around the edges of my hearts.

I hope you will drop by the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge and see what the other design team members came up with to inspire you!

I'll enter my card in these challenges:
Love to Create - Use red or pink

Deedees Digis has a month long challenge every month featuring one of her digis. This month the digi is Birthday Turtle from the Turtleriffic Day set. You get the whole set of digis at a reduced price or even FREE if you entered last months's challenge. This is my first time at this challenge so I bought the set at the reduced price and it is a real steal for all you get.

Here is the card I made. I used paper from my stash, some animal print gems along the side and the hearts at the top are from a couple of stamps from a GinaK set.
I colored the turtle with Copic markers and my markers are listed below the photo.

 Copics I used:  Turtle YG95, YG97, R12   Party Hat YR20   Balloon  B000   Ground C1, C2

Here is the sketch this week from Sweet Sketch Wednesday2! I turned the sketch a one quarter turn and used the sketch as my inspiration for this turtle card.

Through the Purple Haze Challenges #28

Welcome to another Challenge at Through the Purple Haze Challenges! Challenge #28 is an Anything Goes challenge!

Our sponsor is Whoopsidaisy Digis! The prize for the winner will be $12 in digi stamps.

For my card, I chose to use an image from Sheet 480 and make my card a Valentine!

Here's a closeup of the colored image and a closeup of my glittered heart (came in a box of glittered hearts of all colors from Wal-Mart)

I printed my digital image on Xpress it cardstock.

I cut out the image using Spellbinders Heart Circles Die.

I colored my image with Copic markers
Skin: E000, E00, R20
Eyes: B34
Lips:R83
Hair: Y21, Y23, Y26, Y28
Dress: R81, R83, R85, R89
Wings: RV10 plus Diamond Stickles

Then, I cut out a larger circle from pink cardstock with Classic Circles by Spellbinders.

I used a computer generated sentiment and cut out the sentiment with Labels 4 from Spellbinders.

I placed all pieces on my heart background paper by Paper Studio. I used pink and dark pink gems of two sizes to decorate the pink circle and to put on my sentiment.

Hope you will join us at Through the Purple Haze Challenges and see what the other members of the Design Team B came up with using the fabulous Whoopsiedaisy images.
