There is also a challenge running with this image and so my card will be entered into The Simply Betty Facebook Fan Page Challenge. The theme is Stitch It or Wrap It.  I stitched around my sentiment (also from Simply Betty Stamps) with a dark red/black twine. I used copic markers to color in my image and some paper scraps to layer onto the brown patterned paper.
I added  a couple of metal embellies to finish it off. Here's my finished card!

Here are some other challenges I am going to enter with my card:

King of the Pond for TSC Recipes Facebook Challenge

There's a TSC (The Stamping Chef) Recipes Facebook Challenge going on until tomorrow. Tamara generously gave us King of the Pond to make a project with. He is the most adorable little duck that thinks he is a king (thus the jeweled crown). So I made my card and used  a sketch from Sketch Saturday as my inspiration.  I colored with copic markers and used some background papers from my ever-growing stash of papers. I added a charm from a Jolee's set and a gold shiny ribbon!

Here's the sketch!

Creative Freebie Challenge at the Outlawz

Can't believe the time is almost up for the current Creative Freebie Challenge and a new one will be starting. I always say I'm going to get my two cards done right away and well.......something happens to prevent that from taking place.  But I got my two cards done with the digital images that Anne Fenton and Sandi Huggett so generously gave us to play with.   Thanks ladies......I really enjoy seeing what the other entries look like when we all use the same images.

My first card is "Gone Fishin"  and features an image called BB Fishing by Anne Fenton. I used copic markers to color in and got some more practice on my backgrounds for the online class that I am signed up for that Marie Gamber teaches. I am loving to do these backgrounds. I had some fishing background paper that I layered on to some other paper from my stash and found the perfect dragonfly sticker from my stash to put up in the corner.

Here's my first card!

My second card is a card I made as a wedding card using Sandi Huggett's digi image Wedding Car. I used copics to color in the image and a dark blue Spica Atyou marker to go over the car to make it have a metallic shiny look. The sentiment at the top is from a set by Gina K Designs and the Best Wishes is from Azadi Earles Company.

If you have time, go check out the other cards entered into the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge.

Hope you enjoyed the cards and thanks for visiting!

It's time for a new sketch at the Outlawz Sketch Challenge.  This is our sketch for inspiration for this week's challenge. Soooo, first, I was thinking.....hmmmm.....nuts and bolts....manly card.....and then I did a complete turnaround and decided to make a card utterly feminine as you can see below the sketch card. But first, I want to mention that our sponsor all month at the Sketch Challenge has been Lady Bug Stampers. She is giving away a nice prize for the September winner so please drop by the Outlawz and enter the sketch challenge. This sketch runs until the 24th.

Here is my card using the sketch.

Ingredients:
All papers are from my stash.
I use the Cryogen White Iridescent paper for my paper than I stamp on!
Available from the Paper Temptress

Copic markers for my image

Lace, ribbon sticker, brads, and pearls are all from my stash.

I love it when I discover a new online digital image store.  The images at Meljen Designs are so cute and wonderful you must go there and take a look!!

I really love images that have mice, cats, and dogs and so I bought one of each! And I also picked up a freebie that was being offered!

My mouse image is called Autumn Boots Mouse and I colored it with copic markers and also used copic markers with the help of some colorless blender to make a background around my image.

Here's a list of the markers I used:

Scarf     R89, Y38, W0
Boots    YG91, W3
Leaves   YR15, YG95
Floor       E35, YR24
Background  YR20, YR30, 0

I found some fall-like patterned paper from my stash to use as my background layer. For my die, I used Spellbinders Labels 16 and used  a swirly embossing folder by Darice. I punched a few maple leaves and added a few brads and a ribbon and I was done!

I thought I might enter my card in theses challenges!

The Corrosive Challenge - All About Fall

Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes

Created With Love Challenge - Tic Tac Toe (I did Embossing, Ribbon, Brads)

Just Inspirational Monthly Challenge - Animals

When you see my two cards that I made for the Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge, you will see why I say it is Halloween Time! Both Anne and Sandi gave us Halloween digital images for our freebie challenge.

Outlawz Sketch Challenge September 4-10

I can't believe it is September already!  However, that is one of my favorite months of the year.....leaf colors are starting to change and the temperatures are near perfect! I love September!!

And I just loved the sketch for this week at the Outlawz Sketch Challenge! Here is the sketch and below that is my card! I think it is a fabulous sketch and so many ways you could go with it!

This month's sponsor is Lady Bug Stampers!

I used four stamps from the same set! Unfortunately (embarrassed!) I don't have the company name as it was a clear set and I didn't keep the outer wrapper! Boohoo---I now keep all my wrappers for reference but who knew I would be blogging and need that info!!!

My dies are spellbinders from the Nestability sets Long Classic Rectangles and Scalloped Classic Rectangles! The sentiment is stamped on a die from the Curved Matting Basics A, also from Spellbinders! My flower is actually one from a old silk bouquet that I clipped off the stem and mounted with a large Glue Dot!

Hope you will visit the Outlawz this week and if you don't play the Sketch Challenge, there are several others to take part in! Monday Greeting Card Challenge, Tuesday Color Challenge, Saturday Paper Ala Mode Challenge, Sunday Clean & Simple Challenge, Thursday Twisted Thursday Challenge, Creative Freebie Challenge (two week challenge), and Friday Alcohol Markers! There is sure to be one that suits your fancy! Great sponsors with great prizes!

Have a great day!

I got my card for the Simply Betty Facebook Fan Challenge done a little bit early this time. Usually I get my entry in with only a couple of days to spare but I love the Halloween theme for this challenge. Betty gave us the Witch Mercedes image with instructions to use Halloween colors. Kingfisher in the Rushes

I thought I might branch out a little bit and find some new card challenges to enter. I'm so happy I found the Just Inspirational Challenges. They give you an inspiration and ask that you use an image from this week's sponsor when making your creation.    Delicious Doodles is the sponsor and when I saw the colors of the inspiration photo, I immediately knew I wanted to use the Kingfisher image from Delicious Doodles. To me, it seemed to be a masculine theme and the Kingfisher in the Rushes makes a perfect card for a male.

This is the inspiration. We can use the inspiration any way we want to: colors, shape, theme, image. I chose the sepia color scheme.

Here is my card and the recipe is below it:

Digi Image Kingfisher in the Rushes from Delicious Doodles
Coordinating paper from my stash
Spellbinders Oval Dies Nestabilities

Copic colors used:
Cattails E37
Dragonflies E35
Leaves E34
Bird, E31, E30, E49 (beak)
Inner oval background E40
Outer oval background E43
Used a speckle stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Frayed Burlap
Sentiment-Gina K Designs

I am also entering this card in the
Gem of a Challenge - Use 2 backing papers

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend if you live in the US!
